INDI&COLD x AMORI MORI

To accompany our Cross Stitch capsule, full of color and vintage references, we have teamed up with Amori Mori, a project that transforms beads, shapes and colors in jewellery with a strong personality.

Behind the scenes are Adela & Carmen, mother and daughter who design playful and unique pieces featuring lobsters, seashells, or snakes. Like our garments, their accessories reinterpret nature and celebrate craftmanship through color and creativity

A collaboration born from affinity, humor, attention to detail and a shared love for pieces that don’t go unnoticed.

CRAFTMANSHIP, COLOR & HUMOR

How was Amori Mori born?

I, Carmen was living in Mexico until the pandemic hit, and I had to move back to Spain. At the beginning, the plan was to return to Mexico, but as the situation dragged on, I started thinking about staying in Spain, especially because I had help from my mother, Adela. The other half of AMORI MORI.

Inspired by the Mexican craftmanship that we both loved, we started to create our own pieces, and that’s how AMORI MORI started.

Lobsters, shells, bees… where do you get these ideas?

That’s our world, and even if sometimes we are trying to move away from it, we always come back. We are irresistibly drawn to the animal kingdom. In fact, apart from the accounts that we follow for work, all the other Instagram profiles are nature reserves and sanctuaries, marine life, and animal curiosity pages. We are fascinated. So, in reality, they come to us.

How is your creative process like?

When we see something that inspires us, we immediately start thinking about how to bring it to life with our artisans. We start sketching, imagining which stones to use, which colors to combine… We create prototypes, and we adjust some of them, several times, until we find the piece that we really like. Of course, there are sometimes times when the process is interrupted when we are not convinced by the result.

Your motto is clear: “Life is too short to wear boring jewellery”. Do you live by this philosophy outisde the studio too?

Absolutely, in our way of life, how we decorate our homes, how we treat our loved ones… in everything.

How do you live fashion? What does fashion mean to you and how would you define your personal style? Do you identify with the INDI&COLD's DNA?

Even if we are following trends, we try to dress differently and for that, accessories are essential. We think we managed it. Fashion is what takes up most of our lives right now, it’s our passion and our work.

Our brand is the reflection of our style, both esthetically and personally. Even though the joy in our pieces might make people think that we are extroverted, we are actually quite discreet, but at the same time, always up for a good laugh. A sense of humor is essential in our family.

We feel very aligned with INDI&COLD’s approach to creation, caring for every detail and working with honesty. We share their gentle, conscious, and thoughtful ways of doing things.

What did you enjoy from this collaboration with INDI&COLD?

What we enjoyed most was the natural connection that formed right from the start. We share a very similar vision of what creating with care and respect means and working with a brand that supports sustainability and mindful processes felt just right. Moreover, seeing our pieces being part of their aesthetics universe moved us deeply.
